True Bypass

When I bought my new shedload of FX stompboxes t'other day, I got talking to the splendid fellow in the shop about the concept of "true bypass".  He grinned, ruefully, and said he'd been talking to a well-known boutique FX designer and maker who apparently got a little aerated at the mention of the concept, saying it was a new-fangled concept there was no such thing.  His contention was that by the very act of placing two jack sockets and a switch in the way, you will affect the...

New Stomp Boxes!

I realised the other day how much I love stomp boxes, and decided it's OK to have stomp boxes which aren't used all that much rather than being in regular use on one of my boards. Roland Street Cube Mod

I want to carry out this mod https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kylovLsBwBY   to my roland street cube but am unsure of what switch to buy from ebay or wherever. Can’t quite make the rating out on the video and as I only want a simple off/on would that be a STSP toggle switch. Don’t want to order the wrong thing also want it to be small.

Gibson L00 1932 Re-Issues

Played one of these last night: http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/acoustic_guitars_detail.asp?stock=15020215052632 At least I think it was that one. A L00 that looked like it was made in 1932 but is actually a modern version built up from x-Rays and measurements and all that to be an exact replica of the original. My goodness it was a gorgeous guitar. For finger picking and chord work it was an absolute dream. I'm not sure they're still made - so probably a few years old, but not 80 years old.
