I hope this is the right "Effects" subsection on the forum. I've recently acquired a Gretsch D6120 DE and wish to complete the ability to get that Duane sound. I've read on the Gretsch and DE forums that he uses a MXR M159 pedal, something that's now discontinued. I'd like to get a pedal available in the UK that would provide a similar sound. I'm aware of the Boss TR2 but gather it's not as sophisticated as the MXR one was. I was recommended (in a music shop I visited on holiday) to get a BBE Tremor or a BBE Two Timer but again, I don't know which is the better one. That music shop guy wasn't a particular Duane Eddy specialist, as such, so he may have just been talking generally about the reverb/echo sound I could get. (In fact he did say, get one on line and if I don't like it, send it back within the date limit.) I should add that it's not just the DE sound I want as I play Chet Atkins stuff and rockabilly as well, but I'm sure that whatever produces the DE sound can be tweaked for the other uses. So what suggestions can you guys come up with? Thanks in advance.
