The only one I have is built into an EHX Tone Tattoo as part of the Metal Muff section, but it works well. If it's indicative of how EHX's noise gate design works then an EHX one would do the trick.
My son has a Boss Noise Destroyer, or something, but it's not really a noise gate and he doesn't rate it.
I use an ancient Boss half rack size compressor and gate combined. The sensitivity of setting the threshold and release can be critical if you are a dynamic picker going from soft and gentle to a hard thrash. I know some pedals are a bit set and forget but try the one you might buy first to see if it's an issue. They do make a big difference in the quite bits if you suffer a lot of noise.
i personally use 2 boss ns2's in my rig 1 to cut the hiss off of my marshall jmp-1 (which then goes to my marshall jfx-1). The other "goes through" my "dirt pedals?
