Effect Pedals for Blues

I'm putting together a blues band, playing old school blues and thinking that my 10 pedal, pedalboard is somewhat overkill.

If got a second, smaller board, what effects would you recommend. I know the old school crowd usually says no effects, but things used sparingly can be positive.

I'm playing a Tele or a Strat through a Victory V40 Deluxe (with decent reverb) and currently using a Wampler Ego Compressor and a Boss Blues Driver for a little bit of grit (my amp is so bright and clean). I have a clean boost for leads (I have to compete with a Harp player), but any other suggestions?

It sounds like you’ve got most things covered, including a boost which would have been my first recommendation. How about a uni vibe or tremolo pedal of some kind for a washy SRV feel? Or a wah, if you fancy a bit of Hendrix?

Thanks. The amp has trem built in. I'm looking at a chorus/flange. Ironically I used to have a death vibe, but got rid of it as I never used it.

Old school analogue sounding chorus, Danelectro Cool Cat Chorus. They were never expensive and used represent excellent value. Its both smooth and with rough edges at the same time. Not in any way Hi Fi.

EHX Small Clone Chorus, I'd say

It would be better if you could cooperate rather than compete. Agree to take turns or something.
